The Organization of Beauty pageants on campuses in Nigeria has been an issue of importance since the early 70s, with the most beautiful and brilliant girls made to compete for the coveted crown of their universities to become the official Queens of their Universities. However, there has never been a national event that brought together those Queens in a competition to select an overall queen (a National University queen). Thus, Visions Innovations and Concepts Ltd RC 690284 came up with the innovative idea to organize an inter-university Contest comprising all Nigerian University Queens to compete for the Only Crown “Miss University Nigeria”. The winner of this event becomes the Official National University Queen “Miss University Nigeria”, an ambassador for beauties with brain and the opportunity to represent Nigerian Universities and the country on the global stage.
MISS UNIVERSITY NIGERIA PAGEANT” (MUN), has had three editions on September 29, 2007, October 3, 2008 and November 27 2009 producing three outstanding Queens Miss Delta State University, Odogwu Janet, Miss Nnamdi Azikwe University, Aminat Jenny Ayuba and Miss Niger Delta University, Powede Lawrence as Miss University Nigeria 2009/10.
